Know how long you can stay in the sun with the UV Index app. The EPA or TEMIS *predicted* UV Index is automatically obtained for your location. Customize your index by selecting your skin type, sunscreen's SPF, the local terrain (park, beach, city, skiing, etc.) and cloud cover and the app will calculate your local UV Index and estimate how long you have in the sun before skin damage occurs. If you choose, the app will also remember the 'time to seek shade' for later.

Now available for world-wide coverage. Please note this app requires the iPhone/iTouch Location Services to be on-- there is no interface to enter a location manually.

As with many health and weather related apps, there are many variables that GREATLY affect the calculated results. Use the data from this app with caution and common sense.
