Lastly it's an RSS Reader and Podcast player. And a Google News Reader! You're getting all that for just $4.99 with a cool user interface. The Internet Media Reader is the next generation in internet readers. It is your personal communications device that simplifies all your internet browsing. News, Articles, Podcasts, Pictures, Twitter, Video - this app gathers it all in one place so you can enjoy your iPad without breaking a sweat. It's a great news reader. Just enter any search term and it will subscribe to that search so that all the latest information is sent directly to you. It is constantly working in the background to make sure you stay informed on any topic. Cool features: - Beeps satisfyingly - Works in portrait or landscape - Seriously, this is why you bought an iPad It's a Podcast player too! Enter the website or the podcast and you will be able to listen to your favorite shows and read show notes in seconds! (Playing audio requires that you have an active internet connection.) Flickr too! Search Flickr or subscribe to user's photo streams. Stay up to date with your friends without having to switch apps or use a browser. And Videos! Thanks to the forward thinking developers at Vimeo, the Reader is able to play almost their full selection. Just enter some Vimeo searches and enjoy watching some very creative people! (Playing videos requires also requires an internet connection.) Twitter! You can't post (YET!), but you can read your home page and subscribe to searches. Craigslist? Yep, Craigslist! While it would be nice if we could just sit around all day and read on the internet, we must also buy things! Are you waiting for a good deal on an Aeron chair, or maybe another Mac Mini to round out the collection? Well now you can subscribe to searches and be informed when those new necessities of life are available. And so much more! If there is a blog or news site that you love, simply enter its URL into the app as a blog and you will be subscribed to its contents! Or try one of the big aggregator sites like digg.com or reddit.com to get a variety of articles. Try this app out and you'll wonder how you survived without it! You're going to buy it for the same reason I wrote it - because using a UI like this on an iPad speaks to something deep inside of you. The part of you that used to collect action figures, and make props out of cardboard and glue. What's New in Version 1.4* Lots of bug fixes! Crashes should be a thing of the past.* Facebook support! Now you can read your wall from within the app. (Sorry, no posting support.) * Ebay support! Track your favorite auctions - shows the date and time when the auction will end and the current price of items. * Fixed Craigslist support. * Fixed bug with NEXT and PREV in the reader * Gave the ability to make the reader half-screen in the iPhone version * Fixed bug where sound would cut out after some time. * Upgraded TwitterAccount to use new authentication system. Unfortunately, this means you will need to REMOVE then re-add your Twitter account. To find out why, please see http://countdowntooauth.com/ for the reason this change was necessary. Customer ReviewsShockingly Useful App! (5 stars)I bought this just because I'm a star trek nerd. However this app turned out to be much more than just a toy. I now actually use this as one of my main news apps. I have rss feeds and podcasts from my favorite sites in one place and under a very clean, friendly, and functional interface. FYI, those giving this app one star for being slow are running it on their iPhone/iPod touch. On my iPod touch this app runs quite slow. On my I love it (5 stars) I love this app, but I really hope it is expanded to be more than just a reader... i.e. post to Twitter, etc. I will dream of the day I can do everything in an LCARs UI. Much better then the competition (4 stars) I actually spent the money and bought this app as well as the competitors app STARRS. I have to say that this app is a much more robust application. It has its "toy" factor, but also holds true to what an RSS feeder should do. The other app, although has more "clickables" it is very glitchy and very limited. Also the text on the other one is barely readable. I think that if this app just added a little more fun like the
