Jeppesen Mobile FD by Jeppesen
DescriptionJeppesen Mobile FliteDeck provides pilots who subscribe to Jeppesen electronic charting with immediate, direct and reliable access to enroute chart data, terminal charts, and Jeppesen Airway Manual text. Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck is designed for use on the ground or in the cockpit and provides the industrys first interactive mobile enroute application that can be used as a true paper-replacement solution for RNAV capable flight decks. With Jeppesen Mobile FD you will get: Data-driven and interactive enroute display Display of your aircraft position on enroute display and airport diagrams Standard airway manual text Arrival, departure and approach procedures Chart change notifications (terminal and enroute) Full-color, high-quality, vector-based data with amazing details and zoom capabilities Basic routing Note 1: You must have a valid Jeppesen electronic charting serial number in order to activate the application, or update your charts. New Jeppesen subscription serial numbers are activated within one hour of purchase. Note 2: For pilots flying by means of conventional navigation the following data elements are not present in Jeppesens interactive enroute chart display: Change over points, distance between VORs, signal gaps, and waypoint formations (also known as intersection formations). Pilots are responsible for ensuring they have all required navigation information prior to flight. What's New in Version v 1.1.0Route planning with rubber-banding functionality. With the launch of Mobile FliteDeck v1.1 we now offer this functionality, which allows a user to select and “drag” a route to new waypoints instead of using the “drawer” to enter each waypoint or airway.Ability to add user waypoints. Users can tap anywhere on the enroute map and elect to add that area as a waypoint, which makes route planning quick and simple for pilots. Printing capability for terminal charts. Print only the charts needed directly from Mobile FliteDeck, which allows customers to reduce the amount of paper in the cockpit. New symbols for GPS connectivity. New symbols indicate GPS connectivity without leaving the Mobile FliteDeck application. Screen Lock. A lock button allows the user to “freeze” a chart view in any configuration at any time, reducing the likelihood of losing the view by accidently touching the iPad. Direct To Routing. The user has the ability to route direct to any location or Nav Aid on the chart. Customer uploaded manuals. BA customers subscribing to Document Management Services now have the ability to leverage Jeppesen's cloud-based distribution system to push their operations manuals to the iPad. NOTE: If your Airport List is incomplete or you see jumbled letters in place of the airports, please Force Quit JeppFD and restart the application. You can Force Quit JeppFD by pushing the HOME button twice, holding down on the app icon until it starts jiggling. When the red “-”appears, press it and then the app will quit running in the background. Customer ReviewsLots of room for improvement (3 stars)My airline is currently in the testing phase for using Jeppesen Mobile FD in the cockpit. Here are my thoughts so far: First and foremost ever since getting my "new iPad" (3'rd gen) the app crashes every time it gets done updating the terminal charts. This is bad, bad news for the testing review as it this bug has rendered this iPad's version completely unusable. I have had to return to paper charts. I really want this to New update (1 star) Can't use it. App crashes when updating charts while unpacking. Have to restart download only to have app crash again. Can't use (1 star) App crashes while updating charts, and continues to crash. Running 5.1.
