Image To Text – OCR

DescriptionImageToText app allows you to extract editable ASCII text from images, and share the results by EMAIL or EVERNOTE. The app is free, very easy to use, and requires NO REGISTRATION.Simply take a picture of a document that you would like to extract text from, and e-mail the image to yourself, co-workers, friends. You will all receive not only the image but a text file that contains the editable text that is extracted from the image. Currently we are supporting English documents only. At first I thought it was odd that it makes you email the ImageToText results, but then I realized it's likely a really clever way to offload all the heavy OCR processing to server. The app on phone can stay nice and lightweight as a result. Pretty neat :) Works beautifully on sharp images... (5 stars) The free online OCR programs don't seem to work with the iPhone, but this app is terrific, either with saved images of documents or with photos. With the iPhone 4 it does not use flash when it takes photos, so the best thing is either to use a program that does, like CamScan, or the Camera app of the iPhone itself. The ImageToText app then works on the saved image in the Photo file. I found that on slightly blurred images it fared poorly Works pretty well (3 stars) I am using this on iPad 2 so that might play a part in it, but it doesn't work great on smaller fonts (ie regular book sized font). For bigger stuff it works quite well. Dislike the fact that it only allows export via email or Evernote, but do like that it will allow you to load images from your own photo library. Have yet to try the book sized font with a high def image, but i i agine it would work quite well for that. If you have an actual
