DescriptionPathMD IHC is an educational application to help develop diagnostic strategies with immunohistochemistry in pathological diagnosis. Pathologists are often at a loss as to what stains to order, or how to interpret them. This application helps emphasize a pragmatic and efficient strategy for the use of IHC stains as an adjunct tool for diagnosis. Users who would be most interested in this application include: - Pathology Residents (must have) - Practicing Pathologists (must have) - Surgeons and Oncologist who interpret pathology reports - Histology staff involved in immunohistochemistry This application is divided by: 1. Antibody List 2. Organ Systems/Panels 3. CK7/CK20 Tables 4. WHO Classification (Hemepath) The antibody list contains over 80 separate antibodies. The organ systems/panel section includes the following: - Undifferentiated Neoplasms - Carcinoma of Unknown Primary Site - Small Round Blue Cell Tumor - Breast - Gastrointestinal - Gynecological - Genitourinary - Head and Neck - Hematopathology - Lung / Pleura Additionally, CK7/CK20 tables can be accessed directly from the home page. The use of immunohistochemistry in pathologic diagnosis is a highly dynamic and evolving field. This application is NOT meant for direct use in patient diagnosis, and is NOT a substitute for established reference texts and the current medical literature. It is intended to help build a broad framework from which pathologists can evaluate cases in a thorough and efficient manner. This is only the first version of the iPhone application, and future updates with additional content will be available as free updates.
