Description2.0--- We've added the ability to save your game's state between sessions. Now your ShutTheBox game won't end until you want it to! Additionally, we've added scoring so you can keep track of how well you've done and how well you're doing. Finally, this new update provides new ways to play! By default this update comes with the new rules enabled, to match the official rules of play. But, if you're longing for the old style way of playing, then simply disable both the One Die Rule and the Exact Close Rule on the Options screen and you'll be playing just like it was ShutTheBox 1.0 all over again! Hope you all enjoy the new features found in the udpate - stay tuned for more features in the future! 1.0 --- Traditionally, the classic game Shut the Box (also known as Tric-Trac or Canoga) is played using dice. In this updated take on the classic, two dice are rolled (behind the scenes) and the sum is displayed at the top of the screen. A box, consisting of tiles numbered 1 to 9, is displayed and each tile may be recessed to cover that number. The player must close as many tiles as they wish to total the sum; e.g., if the dice show a total of 6 then any of the following combination of tiles could be covered: (6), (5,1), (4,2), (3,2,1). The game is lost when none of the remaining tiles are valid for the number displayed. When all nine numbers are covered, the player wins! I loved it and it was just like I was playing with her again only this one was digital. But after the latest update they slightly changed the rules and scoring. I wish they never updated it because now it's like playing a completely different game ShutTheBox (5 stars) @Gena Girl - you can play the way you did in the old version by turning off the two new rules on the Options screen. Hope that helps! Fun, fully accessible game (5 stars) It's easy to learn, fun to play, and I can play it with no problem despite being totally blind. My sighted son likes it too. It's fun to have a game we can both enjoy.
