Proloquo2Go provides a full-featured augmentative and alternative communication solution for people who have difficulty speaking. It provides natural sounding text-to-speech voices (CURRENTLY AMERICAN, BRITISH and INDIAN ENGLISH ONLY), high resolution up-to-date symbols, powerful automatic conjugations, a default vocabulary of over 7000 items, advanced word prediction, full expandability and extreme ease of use.

Proloquo2Go is for anyone who cannot afford spending thousands of dollars on an AAC device and yet wants a solution that is just as good if not better. INCLUDED VOICES: The current version includes North American English male, female, girl and boy voices. These can be swapped at no costs for British male and female voices or an Indian English female voice that can be downloaded through WiFi by Proloquo2Go. Support for other languages and voices is expected mid 2012.

Version 1.8.5 combines optimization for the gorgeous Retina display of the new iPad and a number of much requested features with bug fixes and stability enhancements.

The most important new features in version 1.8.5 are:

- Optimized artwork and symbol display for the gorgeous Retina display of the new iPad. All graphics look amazingly crisp.

- Introducing PresenterTouch™ - when an external display is attached and you’re in mirroring mode, a small circle will appear wherever your finger(s) touch the screen. Participants in a training can now see your touches projected on the external display and no longer need to guess where you are touching the screen.

- "Speak as you type" in the typing view now also works with shortcuts defined in the device Settings (under General -> Keyboard).

Additionally version 1.8.5 also contains a number of small enhancements and bug fixes.

A must for non verbal children (5 stars)
My daughter was almost nonverbal. We were given a chance to try this app for free along with an IPad. After the 2 weeks, I cried when we had to return my daughter's voice. This app gave her a voice. There was no more screaming and I could understand what she needed. We have a nonverbal daughter who has FAS. We adopted her at 5 years old and she was unable to tell us anything. One day I discovered this app and tried itshe suddenly has a voice. It has changed our world. easy to use. Helpful tutorials online to learn how to do more advanced things. Able to grow with her. I would recommend this to anyone. we had tried a more expensive 'durable medical equipment' speech device and it was useless
